The Birth of a Nation

A new dawn will descend on close to 9 million beings on July 9, 2011 when Southern Sudan will finally gain independence from Sudan's Khartoum rule. This feat comes to them after witnessing decades of brutal strife and bloodshed.

We stumbled upon a You Tube short film directed by Refugees International , titled South Sudan: An Enduring Struggle, which highlights the miseries encountered by a nation on it's way to freedom.

South Sudan happens to be a resource rich nation and has already had support promises coming it's way  from a string of nations, including India. Also, July has seen developments in terms of nations coming-of-age in the past. In the major development of it's times, sovereignty returned to Hongkong on the first day of July in 1997.
